Soren Laulainen's Portfolio

I took the trailer for "Halo 3" and completely redesigned the audio track, using sounds that I recorded and/or manipulated from my library. The project was done as a class assignment for my audio instructor, Joel Tennis, so the references to him were to make him laugh.

Using a stereo microphone, I recorded a large variety of sounds near my home and created an environment from them. You'll hear manipulated recordings of: whistling in a stairwell, soap dispensers, rain, push pins being punched into a corkboard, creaky door hinges, public restroom ambience and a breathing man — but I bet you won't recognize most of them! Similar to the above soundscape, this is a slight variation that depicts a man who has awakened in the shallows of a mountain lake.
